GAME 2 - Night 2

[ Everyone's cellphones will beep, saying "1 new message". Click on that, and you'll find a text which reads:

We are almost done for the day! :)

Check the Vote feature of the phone immediately. Please vote on who might be the wolf! They will be taken out of the game immediately afterwards.

The teams who have been nominated for ousting CANNOT vote.

Dinner has also been served. Please head to the stage area.

It's pretty much a repeat of the last time. There doesn't seem to be an option to reply to the message this time, though.

As for the poll itself, players will be able to see who voted for whom. However, Hans, Gina, Luca, and Lucina can only view the poll. They can't vote on it.

While eating, the loudspeaker plays this song. Constantly. On loop. At some point, one may end up memorising the song…

On the buffet table is a different menu. The Samurai Dogs are definitely STILL there, along with buns and some rice. Then there's a wide selection of sliced and thinly cut vegetables for salad. And a bottle of dressing! Basically, a lot of greens. And Samurai Dogs. ]

[ Hans looks down at his phone, his face growing pale once he sees the new list. Even with the new clothes and better food, Hans is gonna have some trouble stomaching his dinner, I'll bet. ]

Seriously? You guys voted for me? What have I done that's suspicious?

[ idk I'll make two because Hans is UPSET ]

[Whoah whoah whoah, looks like tensions are rising. That's not good. A cornered suspect is a dangerous suspect, especially with at least one loaded gun on the premises. Even innocent people can do something drastic when they crack. With so many bad cops, let there be a good cop!]

Now now, settle dooown, baby. Nothing's for certain yet. There might've been some misunderstandings here and there, so let's sit down and talk it over, okaaay?

[He grabs a nearby chair and pulls it away from the table, twirls it around on one leg as if it's a top for a moment, then finally settles down on it.]

I never said-- I mean, anyone would be upset knowing people are jumping to conclusions about themselves.

[ Hans takes a deep breath, gripping the bridge of his nose in something like frustration. ]

If anyone wants to ask or know more about me I'd be glad to share. I've got nothing to hide.

That's right, you dooo have every right to be a bit upset, so let's rid ourselves of assumptions and set the record straight, shaaall we?

[He waves an idle hand at Hans, then crosses his arms over his chest. Might as well get comfortable for this.]

You're a... prince, is that right? [He can't believe he's actually asking this. It's not as farfetched as mage or space soldier, but...]

Yes, that's right. I'm a prince of the Southern Isles.

[ Hans nods. What's the likeliest thing to get him sympathy? Well, the truth of course. ]

I have twelve brothers before me, so it's really not as glamorous as it sounds.

[Southern Isles? South of what? ... You know what, he's not even going to question these kind of things anymore.]

Twelve? [He lets out an impressed whistle.] Sounds like one cooozy family.

Well... not really. We're, uh, not close. It's hard to get noticed in my family. My brothers have ignored me ever since I was a kid. Some of them liked to pretend I didn't exist for years at a time.

[ Yeah, uh. That's just what brothers do, right? ]

Like I said, it's not exactly glamorous.

[ Hans, her fellow partner in cold-hearted betrayal - you are singing the song of her people. Gina crosses the floor to the youngster so that they can talk, privately. ]

So I hope everyone here can live with themselves for voting off an innocent, gorgeous sheep. Because that's what's going to happen tonight, no matter which of the options they pick.

[ what's the point of a private conversation if they can't be overheard with ease :v ? ]

[ Crap, Gina, you're not supposed to just blurt it out! Hans answers quickly, trying to keep his voice down. ]

Gina! We're not supposed to discuss our roles, remember??

[ Desperate times, huh. It's not like they can get punished if they get eliminated... ]

[In contrast, Luca is doing a pretty good job of keeping his cool, outside of the whole 'mess with Dandy' thing.]

To be honest, I am not sure how you didn't see this coming. Of the three teams in the clue, yours and mine were certainly the most suspicious.

I had hoped people would reconsider. Even if I had suspected, it still hurts, you know?

What, not used to being suspected so quickly? But you were so quick to jump on another team yesterday.

[He's trying to keep the passive-aggressive tone to a minimum, but unfortunately he can't keep it all in.

The next part is said in a more normal voice.]

Regardless of if you are a wolf or not, you will have to excuse me for not graciously accepting the votes this time. I have no intention of being voted out.

Of course, I understand that much. It'd be nothing short of crazy if you somehow asked to have your team ousted instead of mine.

I wanted it done with. This whole thing about outing wolves and "eating" sheep is ridiculous. The sooner someone wins, the sooner we can be done with this mess.

Random or not, that doesn't change the fact that I'm up for elimination when I haven't done anything at all.

Nothing besides vote others off, I suppose. In that sense, we're doing the same thing as the wolves, aren't we?

[The facts of the case may be vague and muddled at this point, but one thing's for sure - this guy's not acting much like the Prince who couldn't recognise an obvious anagram puzzle. Maybe he's just not used to being under this kind of pressure, or maybe...]

I didn't vote for you because you're suspicious. [ That wasn't a lie. ] I voted because of the oddities between what's written on the ballot and the gold ingots. But I'm willing to hear you out if you want to plead your case.

I certainly didn't ask to have my name written differently. That's usually how I introduce myself unless I'm trying to be especially casual. I could easily go by Westergaard but that's not a name most people would recognize...

[ He sides. ]

Besides, what about Gina? She's not royalty, and yet her name was written the same as anyone else. Shouldn't we have both had something strange, if we were both wolves?

... Westergaard? [ That's rather curious. Actually, there's something that she needs to ask first-- ]

There was something that I was wondering, actually, besides that. Where exactly is your kingdom, if you're a prince? [ Half out of idle curiosity and half because of something else entirely. ] Well, I don't know. Your name didn't have a last name attached to it unlike Gina-san's in most of the polls, and only now was there two words attached to your name. I think the clue was meant to find the odd one out in regards to the three pair- specifically in regards to royalty.

If the gold really represented royalty and the word that represents the 'devil' - whether it's attached to the song that's playing on loop right now or is supposed to represent evil, a pact, or something else entirely, I don't know. Since each team had one person who was related to royalty... I just found it as strange. They could have written the other girl's names as "Princess Lucina" and "Princess L'Arachel" just as easily, but they didn't.

... I might be wrong. If I am-- [ She bows deeply, looking apologetic ] I'm sorry.

My family name. Legally, I'm Hans Westergaard but it's not exactly common for royals to use their legal names, you know? I'm Prince Hans of the Southern Isles, or just Prince Hans, same as you would say Princess Anna or Queen Victoria. Even L'Arachel and Lucina-- do you know their surnames? I doubt they'd use them when they're simply introducing themselves.

[ You'll be sorry tomorrow, that's for sure :|||| ]

The differences between us could have had nothing to do with it. They're also women whereas I'm a man-- would that have been a clue, too? Sometimes coincidences are just that. Coincidences.

I suppose we'll find out tomorrow, either way.

I suppose... [ Her voice drops low, and slightly apologetic. She doesn't really know how to deal with these types of things. This game is a lot different than ones she's used to, after all. ] Lucina-san didn't introduce herself to me as a princess.

[ Sighing, she just shakes her head, tired. ]

I don't know. Maybe they had nothing, maybe it was meaningful. I don't want to doubt anyone, but-- if it's just a game like they say, then there shouldn't be too many things for us to worry about. [ But then again, she should know better. ] We'll just have to see.
