Game 2 - DAY 3

[ After ousting finishes, the bodies of Hans, Gina, York, and Bruce slowly turn into glass, starting from their feet and it works its way up until the glass covers the bodies. A few seconds after looking like a diamond statue, the glass shatters, leaving nothing but the broken pieces on the floor.

THERE CERTAINLY WERE HUMAN BODIES THERE EARLIER. WELL? NOT ANYMORE…!

Right after that, everyone will receive a text saying:

Congratulations on making it to the third day! Please get some rest now, as the game will continue tomorrow.
Had there been no wolf ousted the past two days, you all will be in grave danger as one more mistake would mean the wolves win. Oh no! :(

Please remember that the game will be over once the number of remaining sheep is the same as the number of total wolves. That is three!

The twelve mirrors backstage will look pretty strange, too. Four of those mirrors have been broken as well, with only eight mirrors hung properly. If this isn't symbolic, then I don't know what is. Perhaps it would be best to clean the glass shards up. We wouldn't want anybody to get injured, right? And it would be best to get a lot of rest.

The loudspeakers seem to have been turned off now, and even the noise you could hear in the locked dressing room is gone… mysterious. But it's also helpful since you'd want to sleep peacefully at night, right?

Of course you do. Come morning, the stage will have Samurai Dogs YET AGAIN, coffee, Cheerios and milk. Have at it. ]

I might have a few tricks up my sleeve, but I don't know the fiiirst thing about magic, baby. You're better off askin' our self-proclaimed World's Best Mage.

I wouldn't ask anything of him, I don't trust him to not mess up even the simplest of instructions.

And I've worked at the university for years. I can tell who has the right personality and the right physical presence for performing magic. By my guess, of those still alive, there are four of you who might possibly be able to create a sfeer. You're one of them.

You're also the only one of those four that I am reasonably sure is not a wolf, hence why I say it should be you.

Thanks for that vote of cooonfidence, baby. It's very much appreciated. I never pegged myself as much of a magician, but who am I to shoot down an expert opinion? If you think I can do it, I'll give it a shot.

[He finally gets up from his cushy seat in the audience, twirls around, steps out into the main aisle and strikes a pose. It's Cabanela versus the Magic Door, round two! This time, nobody can get mad at him for messing with it again, because he was just following Luca's orders.]

[Luca is glad to hear that Cabanela is going to at least try. Truthfully, someone without training probably won't have enough control to turn just the door into woodchips. More likely, things will be either resiting the change or exploding. But Luca won't get hurt by it, and Cabanela himself probably won't, so it's okay.

As they walk, Luca will prep Cabanela a bit, so he will at least know what to do.]

The array will do most of the work. It's a focus of sorts, telling your sfeer what to do. They're always a bit general, though. For example, the one I'm going to have you try is a general one for working with woody plants- like trees and such- so your sfeer should only affect those types of materials. But you do need to concentrate on what you want the door to turn into for it to be successful.

But more than anything, the key to keeping a sfeer up is control. You are literally forcing part of your soul out of your body, and if you cannot control it, it will just go back into your body and nothing will happen.

[Um. He sees several problems with this. Let's just start with the obvious one.]

You know there's more to these doors than wood, right baby? I'd saaay bits of metal, paint, some synthetic coating and whatnot... Even if changing the wood is possible, there's still all those ooother things to account for.

Well yes, but once the composition of the wood has changed, the rest will easily fall out along with it. A few nails and bolts won't be much of a challenge in the long run.

Are you suuure this isn't gonna backfire somehow? The last thing I want to do is turn those nails and bolts into tiny projectiles. I'm not sure how down I am with ripping out part of my soooul, either. I like having that thing in one piece, if you know what I mean.

It's still connected to you. Think of it like how one might turn their coat pocket out. It's still a part of the coat, even if it is outside instead of inside as it usually is.

And as for projectiles...I doubt you will be able to do that. They may move, sure, but putting enough momentum into them to make them dangerous is not easy. It is more likely that they will wiggle out of their holes and roll on the floor.

Who, me? I would never, I am quite used to staying calm while first-years absolutely destroy the labs.

[He will be standing outside of the circle he ends up drawing on the floor, though. Just to be safe.]

[Luca you had better be kidding about that destruction aspect. Cabanela will just... patiently wait for the drawing to finish.]

How long have you been in this line of work, if you don't miiind me asking?

[Listen, nobody truly understands how destructive teenagers can be until they see how they can trash a lab. Not restraining looseleaf papers, water and dirt everywhere, chairs overturned, there is nothing they can't do.

And Luca has to clean them all.]

Mmm, a few years? First in Sevallia, then at Uitspan in Warassa.

Of course, in Sevallia I had a much more prestigious title than 'technician,' but that is to be expected. Warassa has never been kind to foreigners.

[Oh look, the circle is done! This one looks less swishy and more like a concentrated pattern of intermingling curls and oblong shapes.]

Is that sooo... [He still has no idea what to make of names like Warassa and Sevallia either, but he'll roll with it for now.

And concentrated pattern of curls or not, he's going to try his best to memorize the circle. Just in case he needs to give testimony on all the ridiculous, supernatural things that happened here. Hm hmm...]

So... I just step into it now?

[Luca steps back, to give Cabanela room.]

Once you're ready, first focus on extending yourself beyond your body. Sort of like, hmm...When you really need to be intimidating to break someone down and get them to talk?

[Given how expressive Cabanela is, he figures Cabanela will have no problems with that part.

What Luca doesn't know is that all powers are turned off, so none of this is possible in the first place.]

[That is exactly the sort of thing he doesn't want to think about. Especially not now, with so much uncertainty about Jowd's fate. Not that he'll admit how much of a sore spot it is out loud. The whole point of making one vital mistake during interrogation is to learn from it and improve those techniques. ...And to avoid doing it by himself if at all possible.

So he steps into the circle with a tired smile a bit of additional bouncing for the flair of it all. ...Well, that was underwhelming. Feels just like standing on a normal floor.]

Don't see how that has to do with extending beyond my body, maaan. Can't you give any better examples than that?

[Huh. That's odd. From what Luca had seen, that was all it really took.]

Maybe abstract doesn't quite work for you? Try concentrating on the door, and see if anything happens. Picture the door in the form you want it to turn into, and that should force your will upon it.

[He had hoped that there would be more of a chance to practice, but oh well.]

[inspectormacarena]

[See, that he can try with all his will invested into it. He turns his gaze on the door again, trying to picture it turning to a pile of sawdust. Because the easiest thing to do to wood would be to just pulverize it, right?

Sawdust... Sawdust....!!!]

... And now I just feel silly.

[Okay, this is not working at all. Something has to be wrong.]

This isn't right at all! Even for someone new to sfeer theory, something should happen!

Was I wrong about your potential? Or maybe it's that only someone from where I am from can do it?

[Now he is pacing, trying to sort this out.]

[Cabanela's not wrong about Jesse: he's seemed more or less useless since the shattering of the glass. Most of his time has been spent wandering around in a numb fog of horror or anxiously chain-smoking in the corner.

But he's not totally oblivious, and when he sees the great swoop of white that is his partner rising from the seats, he startles.]

Hey!

[What- Oh geez, he totally forgot that Jesse was chilling in audience area too. He'll just give his partner the benefit of the doubt and assume he was not eavesdropping from across the room.]

Yo! [Haha... Nothing reckless going on over here. Nope.]

[yeahscience]

What the hell are you doing, man? Don't even try to tell me you're trying that shooting-the-door business again.

[inspectormacarena]

Of cooourse not, baby. I learn from my mistakes. We're only going to try and look at it from a different angle.

[And then try to jinx the door with ancient European magic or something like that.]

[yeahscience]

[He eyeballs him suspiciously for a long moment, but when Cabanela doesn't pull out his gun, he grinds his teeth together and sits down to watch him.]

[Not to worry, Jesse, absolutely nothing will happen, because Luca's little voodoo spells don't even work in here. The only thing to come from this is a lot of banter. Banter that Jesse may not want to be around to hear, because eventually it takes a pretty odd turn.]
