[Not really angry so much as really, really unsure about this house and these... Badgers. And here he thought the one in the evidence room was nightmare-inducing enough.]

... what'd he call himself? Proto? Never mind, don't matter. Badger said somethin' earlier: No one's guilty tonight. Why d'ya think he specified tonight?

That's... [Really weird, now that he actually stops and thinks about it. Why did the badger say "tonight"?]

... Huh! There's definitely guilty people in the house, because there's been murders, so... Maybe that means nobody else will die tonight! If there's not another crime, that means no one would be guilty of one, right?

... but tonight implies that'll end tomorrow night. Meanin' there's gonna be another shootout 'fore high noon.

[That's a disturbing thought, and it's making Jake antsy.]

You thinkin' there might be more'n one outlaw? [It's a valid point, one that has Jake wondering.] Two murders... two murder weapons. Murderer ain't stickin' to their MO, 'less their MO is killin' old-timers.

[Tonight ends tomorrow night... Oh, right, that much he can still understand. "Outlaw" and "MO" gets a little trickier. Hmmm.]

Right! It's a double homicide, isn't it? Triple if we count the badger guy. And there were two different names written by victims, weren't there? Then, it only makes sense if there's more than one murderer!

Yeah, Sebastian is running up to the mirror that Proto just disappeared through. He'll even bang a fist on it if he has to. (Is that helping the situation any? Probably not, but when has he ever helped the situation?)]

Hey, wait! Wait!

[Phoenix sees the kid running towards the mirror and feels like it would be beste to stop him. So he rushes on towards him.]

Hold it! We don't know what would happen if it gets angry!

[He was intending to stop right behind the boy, but... then he accidentally slips on the carpet and skids forward, to slam right into the mirror (and a certain prosecutor if he doesn't move out of the way quickly.]

Waaauuuuggghhhh!!

[Sebastian whirled around at the "Hold it", and it's a good thing that he did. It means he could see Phoenix slip up and stumble sideways just in time to afford a tragic collision. As the legendary defense attorney slams into the mirror, the rookie prosecutor falls to the side and lands on his bum with a comical squeaking sound.]

-Eeeek!!!

[Phoenix stumbles over from the mirror and rubs at his bloody nose as he looks towards the fallen prosecutor.]

Um... Sorry about that. ...Are you alright?

[Sebastian already looked startled, but the sight of that bloody nose still makes it several times worse.]

M-Me...? What about you? You're bleeding!

Don't worry about this... It's just a nose wound! [He sheepishly presses a HAND over his NOSE.]

[STILL NOT GOOD ENOUGH, GORE- okayno.

Sebastian sits up a little straighter, sniffing loudly.]

Are you sure? M-maybe you should go see a doctor.

It's okay, really. There's not much in the way of doctors here as it is, anyway...

I'd really rather check on you.

[He's being puttied pitied by the guy with the bloody nose, huh. That's it, then. He's hit rock bottom. Actual tears of defeat are streaming down his face now, way to go, Phoenix.]

Ungh... I'm fine. I just... made another stupid mistake. I guess I really am an idiot...

But... I voted for him. If he didn't do anything wrong, then... I accused the wrong person. [If the badger guy even counts as a person, that is.]

It's very possible that we both voted for the wrong person. So that may be a mistake we share.

Hah... You really think so? [He sniffs again, still holding onto his baton with both hands. If he keeps this up, it might just snap in half.] ... You voted for that Interpol guy, right?

That's right... only for a lack of other suspects. I'm not convinced about his guilt, though. And I didn't expect him to vote for you.

Me neither! I don't even know w-why... All I did was ask if he had the autopsy report for Dr. Black, and he said that... that if he did, I'd be arrested already. Ungh... I don't get it... Is it just because I'm a prosecutor?

I don't know... There are other prosecutors he could havr pinned this on. Why you in particular?

Maybe I made him mad when I said I'd prove him wrong... [Does that make sense? He doesn't even know anymore. It's been over a day since he even talked to Lang, so the memories of the conversation are all kinds of fuzzy. Let's see, the guy said he's The Best in Interpol and he thinks all prosecutors are corrupt, so...]

... Or maybe... Maybe it's because of my Pops...!

Pops is- was the chairman of the P.I.C. ...Prosecutorial Investigation Committee. Before that, he was the Chief Prosecutor for a really long time, so I guess you could say he's kind of a big deal. Turns out he... He did a lot of bad s-stuff. [Lang may not be right about all prosecutors, but Blaise Debeste probably does stand for everything he hates about them.]

[Wait a moment... that Debeste?! He's the father of this kid?

...I feel bad for him.]

I see. Now that makes sense. If that's so... then Agent Lang's suspicions may be grounded entirely in personal bias after all.

I agree. That does sound like unfair treatment, especially if you're trying to be your own man. Unfortunately... some people can't see past titles and last names.

WAAAAH! [He stumbles backwards so darn fast, eyes wide with shock. Then he starts fiddling with his baton.]

... Ah. I... If you did nothing wrong, then... Why was the word "badger" written on the floor? In blood? A-alongside a dead you? [He's so confused about this badger guy and whether or not he's dead, and how many there even are in total....]
