But Mr. Lawyer, the "prosecutor" hasn't submitted any evidence or even stepped forward! Anyone could lie about it. And probably would!

If a fake prosecutor were to frame someone else as guilty, they'd likely do it to someone who's already been convicted of a murder in the past, to make it easier to convince the others. Like Prosecutor Blackquill.

Objection!

If this prosecutor were to step forward before any and all guilty parties have been revealed, it would be a liability to them. We don't have the forms of protection here that we would have on the outside!

Because of that, I do stand by protecting this prosecutor's identity. I myself know of this person's identity and I trust in their world. I do understand your skepticism, Detective Fulbright. But all of the 'evidence' that we have to work with so far has been seemingly planted. Shouldn't this matter at least require investigation?

What makes you so sure this "prosecutor" isn't lying to you to gain your trust?

Frankly, I'm not sure we can trust you, Mr. Lawyer! Much less an unknown person just because you say so!

Ouch, Detective Fullbright...

I'm not sure what I can say, other than that I believe in this prosecutor. And they're the only lead that we have.

I understand that this will be hard to believe, between the secrecy and the lack of evidence. But I'm hoping that we can at least consider and look into this possibility. [He shakes his head.] This isn't easy for me, and I know it can't be easy for you.

What if someone else came forward as this case's prosecutor?

Then... Well, we'd have to figure out which prosecutor is which? It we don't have the 'real' prosecutor already, it would be odd that they haven't communicated any of their findings to us yet at all.

Maybe they don't know yet that they can trust you, Mr. Lawyer. Coming out into the open now would likely mean not being able to investigate anyone else.
bewrightback: (please explain that one more time or 5)

They could always find other ways to pass on their messages. I know I'd hear out anyone with a contrasting opinion. Or are you already assuming that I have to be wrong, Detective?
