Well I'm not allowed to sleep with him, unfortunately. [PHRASING.] But I've been watching him whenever my eyes are open!

I believe Prosecutor Blackquill is being framed here. It's too easy for someone to lie about being the prosecutor assigned to this case, and to target someone who is already a convict!

[He's so very oblivious to that phrasing, what a sweet summer child.]

Too easy, huh? Too easy... [He repeats the words like he's trying to solve some difficult math problem.] But if someone is lying about being the prosecutor, wouldn't the real prosecutor step forward? Because if we believe this fake prosecutor, we'll end up accusing an innocent person! No real prosecutor would want that, right?

Keeping anonymous is probably still in the real prosecutor's best interest. If they're not murdered, their role may at least wind up being blocked by the bad cop.
deverybeste: (Shock - talking)

[personal profile] deverybeste 2015-10-18 05:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Huh? Uh... Then... The real prosecutor would let an innocent man take the fall just to keep prosecuting? That doesn't sound very fair...

The real prosecutor can't protect anyone if they're murdered or prohibited. Even without them coming forward, I am absolutely sure Prosecutor Blackquill is not guilty.

[ADJUSTS SUNGLASSES.]

...The only other thing I can really say right now is that convicting Prosecutor Blackquill of these murders would be a serious mistake.
deverybeste: (Baton - explanation)

So that's a professional opinion from a flatfoot, huh? Okay, I get it. [He taps his baton into the palm of his hand for a few seconds.] ... Then, do you have any other suspects you think we should vote for?

Since Prosecutor Blackquill is in danger, I'm voting for "no one"!

Hmmm, I guess that makes- [...!] Hang on, if you're convinced that Prosecutor Blackquill is innocent, that means the Prosecutor accusing him is definitely a fake, right? Then, shouldn't we be trying to find out who that is?

But if the Prosecutor ISN'T a fake, that'd totally put them in danger!
deverybeste: (Shock - talking)

[personal profile] deverybeste 2015-10-18 06:58 pm (UTC)(link)
So... So hang on. On the one side we have Detective Fool Bright, who insists that Prosecutor Blackquill is definitely innocent, so the Prosecutor must be fake... And then on the other side we have you guys saying the Prosecutor is definitely real, so Prosecutor Blackquill must be guilty. But... there's no real conclusive evidence for either one, is there?

So what are we supposed to do for the trial vote?
stagewright: (SPRITE ► fret to the side.)

[personal profile] stagewright 2015-10-18 07:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Well...the only way to prove either side right or wrong is to vote for Prosecutor Blackquill, though. If we do that, it'll be obvious if the truth is being told or not...and I'm sure if our side was wrong, that Prosecutor would get outted by Myriam and Daddy.

I don't think they're wrong about this, though, because it'd be a pretty silly gambit for the killer if they could be disproved so easily, wouldn't it?
deverybeste: (Picture this)

[personal profile] deverybeste 2015-10-18 07:08 pm (UTC)(link)
... I think I get it. Yeah. That means we should take a risk and vote for Prosecutor Blackquill, revealing the truth once and for all, right? Because even if the truth is bad, it's still our duty to find it. That's it, isn't it?
stagewright: (SPRITE ► ooooh you!)

[personal profile] stagewright 2015-10-18 07:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah. I think it's the only way to vote in which we can learn something new. And if it's right...then that Prosecutor might be able to help us out even more after this!
deverybeste: (Baton - orchestrating)

[personal profile] deverybeste 2015-10-18 07:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Right! Then, we should all definitely vote for Prosecutor Blackquill! It's the best, most logical logic!
stagewright: (SPRITE ► tee hee!)

[personal profile] stagewright 2015-10-18 07:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah! I'm definitely going to. I absolutely trust in those two!
