That's why the detective insisted over and over that Prosecutor Blackquill was innocent, but as we've already proven... He's not. Detective Fool Bright was committing forgery. But! That's not all. We all saw what happened during the execution yesterday, right? [Please say he wasn't the only one who saw that.] The detective was desperate to save his accomplice because they're in cahoots! The guilty parties have to protect each other because if they don't, their numbers will dwindle too fast and they'll lose.
[Ooooh boy he is in no shape for this. He makes a very forced smile. Emoting is hard right now.]
I couldn't believe that he could be guilty. But I would have given my life for Prosecutor Blackquill, guilty or not! I wanted to save him because I knew he still had to have justice in him... and because these badgers are not licensed executioners! What they're doing is murder!
[He takes in the rebuttal and tries to look at it from all angles. C'mon, logic, don't fail him now.]
So... Wait, are you saying you wouldn't have stopped the execution if the badgers were licensed? Or would you still have interfered?
I mean... Isn't it a flatfoot's job to catch the bad guy and make sure they get their just reward? It sounds a little fishy that you're willing to give your life for a criminal if they're totally guilty.
