GAME 2 - DAY 2

[ Once the clock ticks midnight - then again, you wouldn't know since there aren't any clocks around - you hear a coughing sound from the loudspeakers positioned in various spots on the ceiling. ]

Ahem, ahem…! This concludes our first day. Please head back to the dressing rooms and get good night's rest. Breakfast will be served at 6am. Don't worry! We will wake you all up.

Both the men and women's washrooms have a shower stall. Feel free to use them at your own convenience. The dressing rooms should be cleaned up now, and there is now a selection of new clothing for everyone to use.

[ If one goes back to the dressing room they woke up in, they'll find that the room is clean. No more chalk outlines, all the furniture is in place, etc. There are now various clothing stands providing everyone with ~sleepwear~.

The seats in the audience area are comfortable, but if you look hard enough, you'll find that there are three mattresses in the broom closet. Which you can open. It's not locked!

Hours pass, and whether or not you sleep or stay up to explore, all phones beep a few hours later. Click on the message, and it shows you the new poll. ]

Good morning one and all! There are only ten teams left. Please do your best to identify all wolves.

[ Kelly, Emily, Doom, and Integra are nowhere to be found.

But… hey! The buffet table on stage now has new food served. There's bread and butter, hot coffee, more Samurai Dogs, some sugar and cream packets for the milk… it's a simple spread.

And… what's this? A bunch of keys with a heart-shaped charm? Maybe somebody lost it… ]

[ ... well, that sure happened. Although Asuna is rather surprised as to why those two were eaten by the wolves. But when she finds the keys, she can't help but be curious, calling out to everyone else. ]

Hey! Do you guys think that these keys opens up one of the doors? [ You never know until you try, right??? ]

Let's stick those keys into every lock we can find, pal!! For Kelly!!

[It would help to know how many wolves remain, at least, but she hasn't come to expect anything helpful from their captors' statements. For now, she's going to munch on a nutritious breakfast of hot dog and ponder the situation aloud.]

To get rid of such an obvious suspect seems poor strategy on the wolves' part... why them, then?

I think it's because Doom was one of the smarter ones in our group. Wouldn't it be more efficient for the wolves to get rid of their most troublesome adversaries as soon as possible so they can win faster?

Don't get too confused. Something like that was the perfect strategy. The most suspicious are always the ones who get free passes because everyone thinks its too obvious they're the bad guys. Which means if they aren't, well...

....well. Not quite sure where I was going with this. It made sense in my head.

[Hopefully none of the guys wanted to shower in the morning, because Luca will be taking up that thing for at least an hour, if not more.

Any complaints can be filed with him after he is done and dressed for the day.]

[This guy wanted to shower, actually, and will be waiting in the washrooms outside the shower stall. He's leaning back against the wall, arms crossed over his chest and eyes closed, so if Luca makes the poor decision of leaving the stall without any clothes on, Cabanela won't immediately spot him.]

[Lockhart is waiting.

He's not always in the washroom, but man, is he ever popping in every five minutes to see if the showers are free... and also looking to see if there's any quality shampoo, after a while. That search has likely occupied his attention, so it's... very possible that he may run right into Luca while he's dressing or something of the sort.

...or maybe just seem really kind of weird as he's looking around the washroom who even knows.]

[So, that was a thing.

The sudden lack of four people is disconcerting, and Bruce mulls over it over breakfast. He's got a small portion for himself which he slowly eats as he thumbs through the stuff on his phone. Mostly rereading the messages transmitted between him and the badger last night during the ousting.

So a team is gone, and another taken by the wolves - whatever that means. Bruce just hopes that they'll be alright.

Also: one might notice the presence of what seems like a medical kit sitting at Bruce's side, something that had most certainly not been there yesterday. Now where did that come from...?]

[York notices, indeed. And he signals that with a simple...]

[That certainly is mysterious! So Luca will go ahead and go over near Bruce, sitting down at an available spot.]

[First of all, let's acknowledge the terrible pajamas L'Arachel was graced with, holy shit? Holy shit. Why this.

Anyway, sorry to all of the ladies who didn't take their showers early, because once L'Arachel figures out that people are using that thing, she has to investigate.

Except...except she comes from vague medieval fantasy land... She's never seen a shower. She doesn't know what to do with this.

She spends probably way too long fighting the shower, experimenting with the knobs and switches, dousing her awful-pajama-clad self with water more than once—but eventually she figures out what she's supposed to be doing in here and decides to take up the shower for an additional hour of her own, because she's a diva, and also awed by the miracle of running water.

Afterwards, she belatedly joins everyone for breakfast, takes note of who has straight-up disappeared, and mostly just kind of allows her horse to poke around at all the food once she's gotten herself a meal and a drink.

I do hope our captors spoke the truth about the safety of those ousted and removed... [And okay, wow, L'Arachel is probably the last person who needs all the caffeine in the coffee she is drinking right now oh no]

[ WALKS RIGHT INTO THE SHOWER ROOM..... and just stares at L'Arachel. Is she the only female left that actually knows how to use that thing?? ]

It is best not to assume such things, though hoping for a good result is helpful.

[Says Luca as he casually munches on some breakfast. He's used to getting up at ass-o-clock, so by the time everyone else is up and getting ready he is already showered and fully dressed. He looks almost as impeccable as he did yesterday, though a close eye will notice some wrinkles in his suit, since he was unable to iron it.]

As do I... really, I won't be able to rest easily unless there's some way we can right things after all this!

[...he is actually not drinking coffee, because what if it messes up his teeth he can't magic it away oh god oh man oh god oh man]

But I think the best thing to do for now is to try and make sure nothing that unfortunate happens again, unfortunately!

[Guess who's hoarding the coffee. Ok, no, he's just getting a cup, but the way he beelined for it, it wouldn't be surprising if he ended up stealing it all.

But no, he's just pouring some milk in it. And muttering to himself, as he does.]

They're not even telling us if we got the right team. Now that's just not decent.

And the teams are just... gone. Vanished without a trace. I'd concede that it's impressive, if it weren't just inconvenient for us. Although... This means the wolves took out Judge Doom and his partner, right? It's funny, Zach. It was really tempting to peg him as one of the wolves, but they just took him out in the first night instead. It just goes to show you can't go by appearances when it comes to this sort of thing.

If only we had some sort of lead...

[And then he proceeds to stare at his coffee for a good minute or so before shaking his head, disappointed, and finally gulping it down.]

[York will have to share like a good boy, because guess who else is going for the coffee once he's actually showered and is willing to mingle? Cabanela hasn't slept last night. All he did was prowl the halls in case there were any clues they missed and try to estimate out what time it'd be. Trying to imagine what'd be going down back home while he's stuck here.

Needless to say, he needs that caffeine. He downs half a cup of coffee in one go before he even speaks.]

Goood morning, Mr. FBI Agent.

[Grace has some slight idea of where she is by now, and the smell of coffee tells her something to wake her up is nearby. She's learned not to complain about food even with her face, so there's only a minute stiffness in her neck before she starts picking about the table. Tea settles, coffee energizes, but she has to settle for the coffee. As she tears open sugar packets, she watches York and tries to interpret his monologue.]

Excuse me, rra. [There's a lowering of her tone as she says that last word, a hint that she's trying to offer him the same respect as any unknown person.]

[So Cabanela basically suffered through the Worst Night Ever as a result of failing to find an escape route in time. It isn't so much that he's stuck here, it's that he couldn't be where he was supposed to be. Unless time magically stood still outside the coliseum (hahah. yeah right.) he missed out on taking part in the most important night of his life and hot damn does that bum him out. He didn't get a wink of sleep at all.

Once he's showered and had his coffee, he decides he might as well focus his attention on the game again, because it's not as if mulling over what could've been will help him any.

Two teams gone, ten teams left. The results of the ousting are a bit surprising. The votes ended in a tie, after all. There wasn't even any confirmation on the 'alignment' of the team that got taken out of the game, so no telling how many wolf teams are left. Tricky business, this. The honorable judge and his lady partner were sheep for certain, weren't they?

He's sitting in one of the plush chairs of the audience area, a hand to his chin as he talks to himself- or anyone willing to listen, really.]

Tsk tsk, after all our hard work to tie the votes... Feels bad, maaan. Shows how much influence we have, doesn't it? But who decided which of the two teams would be removed from our little game, I wonder?

It was randomized.

[Bruce comes over, now with a medical kit slung over his shoulder which had not been seen yesterday. His voice is soft as he says the words though, just loud enough for the inspector to hear.]

That's what I was told, anyway. [He goes to sit down beside the inspector, giving him a cursory look. There's a brief pause after that before he speaks again.] Are you feeling alright after last night? Any headaches or pains?

[Grace would never have forgiven herself if she had stayed quiet the first day, had hidden in her own corner and let some foolish man or frivolous girl sway the herd into devouring sheep instead of driving away wolves. In about six hours, therefore, she'll think it's fortunate that the blow to her head early on was enough to knock her out most of the day instead of just incapacitate her.

Not even a headache and a hobbling walk is going to hold her back from investigation, even if it means she has to carry her shoes with her instead. So, on the second day there's a warning cry of "Ko, ko!" and a new face breaking into other rooms in the early morning hours before breakfast, giant glasses and dark curls springing out of a bun suggesting a curious insect scuttling through walls. If a door's unlocked in a public place like a stage, she has to be allowed in, especially in such a strange, dangerous predicament.]

[ Although Asuna herself didn't get much sleep, she's definitely taken aback at the warning cry, amber eyes widening in sheer surprise because why. ]

[ The platform on the stage seems to have been messed with. Since the beginning of the game, it was lowered. Now, the platform is high up in the air, metal bars protruding from the floor to keep it up there.

The lever to bring the platform down is somewhere in the wings. Bring the platform back down, and one will be able to find three gold ingots. Engraved on each is the name Mephistopheles, but the engraving of the name seems so old that it's only legible to someone with a good eye.

Below the Mephistopheles carving are a pair of names. Each ingot has a different name set of names:

Prince Hans and Gina Linetti
Luca Valentino and Lucina
L'Arachel and Kongwai Tao ]

[Once the mechanism for the platform is figured out, Jesse finds himself squinting at the ingots, turning them over and over in his hands.]

This seems, like... weirdly straightforward, right? I mean, after last night and all.
