GAME 2 - DAY 2

[ Once the clock ticks midnight - then again, you wouldn't know since there aren't any clocks around - you hear a coughing sound from the loudspeakers positioned in various spots on the ceiling. ]

Ahem, ahem…! This concludes our first day. Please head back to the dressing rooms and get good night's rest. Breakfast will be served at 6am. Don't worry! We will wake you all up.

Both the men and women's washrooms have a shower stall. Feel free to use them at your own convenience. The dressing rooms should be cleaned up now, and there is now a selection of new clothing for everyone to use.

[ If one goes back to the dressing room they woke up in, they'll find that the room is clean. No more chalk outlines, all the furniture is in place, etc. There are now various clothing stands providing everyone with ~sleepwear~.

The seats in the audience area are comfortable, but if you look hard enough, you'll find that there are three mattresses in the broom closet. Which you can open. It's not locked!

Hours pass, and whether or not you sleep or stay up to explore, all phones beep a few hours later. Click on the message, and it shows you the new poll. ]

Good morning one and all! There are only ten teams left. Please do your best to identify all wolves.

[ Kelly, Emily, Doom, and Integra are nowhere to be found.

But… hey! The buffet table on stage now has new food served. There's bread and butter, hot coffee, more Samurai Dogs, some sugar and cream packets for the milk… it's a simple spread.

And… what's this? A bunch of keys with a heart-shaped charm? Maybe somebody lost it… ]

[Since the inspector is apparently too dumb stubborn, Bruce won't try and argue against him. But at least he better not drag anybody else into the mess that he makes.]

[Cabanela is well aware that he goofed up. He's made one heck of a mess that ended up causing trouble for other people before. That was the one big lesson he should've learned ten years ago. Thank god nobody got hurt this time. Or struck down by a freakin' meteorite fragment. Ironic, then, that it should happen again yesterday of all days.]

... Neeext time, I'll get everyone to clear the room, baby. [He's kidding. Probably.]

[Well kidding or not, its always good to keep people out of danger as much as possible. Bruce gives a nod.]

Will do, baby. Wiiill do. [He's got no crazy plans for the moment though. Lucky for everyone else.]

So, what do you think? We got one less wolf team to worry about now?

[Bruce only thinks about it for a moment before he shakes his head.]

I highly doubt it. [There's more sheep than wolves, at least from what he knows, so the probability of having chosen those who are wolves is pretty low.] And the fact that they all simply vanished like this worries me too.

[So Bruce doubts that Kelly and her partner were wolves, hm? Cabanela had that same inkling, so it's nice to know they're on the same page there. Unless it's all one big charade to mess with his head, of course. This is the sort of game where mindgames would need to be played.]

It's cuuurious, isn't it? I don't suppose there was anyone who saw them disappear, which begs the question, how did it happen? The mystery just keeps on growin'.

[Bruce hardly thinks this is the time and place for such things - and besides, its not as if he approves of them himself. He's had enough of those in his life to want more.]

Perhaps if the chance comes again, we can ask the kidnappers.

[Not that he thinks it'll turn up anything, but hey, no harm trying.]

So we caaan. Not that their word is to be trusted, but it'll give us a better indication.

[As for where the ones who were taken out of the game went... Well, he might have a way of finding out on his own. It depends on what the results of tonight's ousting votes would be and whether the game proceeds into a third day at all.]

Something's better than nothing.

[And who knows, they might actually get more than just a something if they're lucky enough. Not that Bruce thinks they'll be that lucky, but who knows. Enough strange things have happened as it is.]

Unless the something is meant to mislead, setting us in the negative, baby.

[Again, he doesn't trust the kidnapper's words. If he wants facts, he needs to be able to verify them himself, hopefully with cold hard evidence.]

Well, at the very least, what they've given me seems to be true enough.

[He only has it based on one receipt which he dug out from the trash, but it seems legitimate enough.]

Oh? And what would thaaat be?

[Details on the game? Details on this place? Details on the players? So many options.]

[Well, its something to go along with, at least.]

[Alright, Bruce, you've got his interest.]

Mmh, I've heard a few conflicting stories about that. Fuuunny, isn't it? It's easy to mix up a day, a week is less believable, but to be off by even one year would suggest nothin' short of brain damage, baby. [He sits up a bit straighter, his piercing gaze on Bruce now.] So, let's hear it.

I asked if they had any concrete evidence about pur current timeframe, and I was told that maybe the trash would have it. So I dug around it, and--

[Here he pauses and then proceeds to pull out a receipt. It's for a purchase of Samurai Dogs and the date is timestamped for 10 July 2026. By all means, it certainly looks legit enough.]

--I found this. It's probably not the best to go on, bu I doubt they'd take so much effort to put fabricate something like this if they wanted us to believe if this is real.

[Whoop, he'll be taking that receipt to get a closer look and flip it around between his fingers, if you don't mind. ...No kidding. 2026.

There's an awful sinking feeling settling in his stomach. Whether he missed the execution by a day, a year or even a decade doesn't matter. What does matter is that there are (or were?) two girls who were counting on him. Besides, he's the head of Special Investigations. He can't afford to go missing for that many years. It's not even possible. ...Is it?]

... What year do you believe we should be in?

2012, for me. [...] It's not too far, but its still far enough.

[He tries not to make a face here. To be fair, its not like anyone would really miss him, but still. It's quite a stretch of time.]

What about you? Is it very far?

[2012... Not as far as 2525, but still far. Is there a pattern to the years? They'd have to question everyone here to find out.]

Not as far as you, baby. Last I remeeember, it was the wonderful year of 2019. [He flips the receipt over one last time in hopes of finding some other clue, only to come up empty. Then he hands it back to Bruce.]

Well, if anything, that's something else we know now.

[That they're all... from different times?? Which is still hella weird for Bruce to take in, honestly.]

Know? What we knooow is that our supposed present time conflicts with what most of us remember. What we don't know is what it means.

[Time travel or mass hallucination? It seems awfully specific for a hallucination, unless there are other things here that are completely off from reality and they simply don't notice it.]

Perhaps its up to us to find out.

[Maybe there's something this, maybe there's not... but there's only one way to find out.]

Perhaps sooo. I'd like to find out, that's damn certain.

[Trouble is that his knowledge of the 'supernatural', if one can even call it that, reaches to a person using space powers to manipulate people into doing things against their will. He's got nothing on time travel.]

[Bruce knows nothing as well besides the theory of it, but its been nothing more than a theory. He's not much help there either.]

Hopefully we'll get more clues with each day that comes.

[Each day that comes... Who knows how long they'll be stuck here? Not until the game ends, if their kidnapper has anything to say about it. With the ousting votes only happening once a day, the game could go on for quite a while longer.

He breathes a sigh and hangs his head just a bit.]

Nooot exactly how I'd hoped to spend my time, but if it's really 2026, I suppose it doesn't matter either way. What's another few days on seven lost yeaaars, right?

[There's a small laugh from Bruce there, although the tone comes out rather dry and humorless.]

I suppose that's true.

[In some sad way, Bruce can agree with that.]
