GAME 2 - Night 3

[ OOCly, the rules are pretty much clear! Sheep can win by voting out ALL the wolves. Wolves win when there are less than three sheep teams left. That is what it says on the rules feature of the cellphone, too. But it seems that the text earlier in the day stated otherwise...

It's about time for the suspicion poll to close. And to start off the new poll, everybody receives 1 new message. ]

[ However, there is no "reply" option yet again.

It's eerily unsettling how this text isn't as coherent and how the words aren't properly formed, huh? There doesn't seem to be anything new, either. There is no fresh food served - you'll have to make do with the breakfast food... which Dandy has conveniently thrown on the floor.

Hey! There's that vending machine. Raid that shit (aka punch it, break it, etc.). There's soda, potato chips, cookies, and other unhealthy snacks. It should at least tide everyone for the evening. ]

[ 00 EST 28 April: Ousting poll draws to a close. A new day begins, with two teams out of the game. ]

You're missin' the bigger picture, baby. If it turns out that Shades and his devoted paaartner are sheep, this whole ousting is a waste of time. Sheep versus sheep means wolves are having a good laugh at our expense.

[Not that he's not worried about being turned to glass and supposedly taken up to the balcony, but... Yeah. Fulbright accused him of not being invested in the game, so here it is.]

[personal profile] notaccurate 2015-04-27 04:42 pm (UTC)(link)
And we will be warned either way, if both of your teams are sheep. Then we can go from there.

'Give me the strength to accept what I cannot change, the courage to change what I can, and the wisdom to know which is which.' It sounds like you need a healthy dose of wisdom here.

[Well, that has him crack a far more genuine smile. He sits up a little straighter, propping himself up on his arms.]

Hahaha, I used to get around with talent and dumb luck, but I guess that's not enough anymooore. So do you have any actual questions for me about the game, baby? I'd haaate to be accused of distracting you again. [Sure, he's joking about it, but he is sort of bitter at the same time. Who accuses a guy of distraction tactics when he's just doing his job? Geez.]
notaccurate: (39)

[personal profile] notaccurate 2015-04-27 06:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah, but those who soar on their innate talent alone are the first to falter in the winds of difficulty.

[He will go ahead and take a seat next to Cabanela once he is sitting up, though. ]

Where to start... I suppose I should ask you who out of your clue you suspect.
inspectormacarena: (Coupé)

[personal profile] inspectormacarena 2015-04-27 06:53 pm (UTC)(link)
[He could correct Luca and point out it was technically not his clue, but now's not the moment to be a wiseass.]

If I haaad to choose, I'm going with the detective duo. To be honest, I'm still not entiiirely convinced, but the way Shades has been supporting his reasoning with assumptions and refusing to accept that he might be wrong is what does it. If he had the sheep's best interest at heart, he'd consider the possibility that it's the thiiird team. [He pauses for a moment, then cringes because now that the words are leaving his mouth, he realizes just how flawed that logic is.]

...Except if the detective duo were wooolves, it wouldn't matter which of the other two teams in the clue ended up on the chopping block. So either he's pigheaded, he's got it out for me ooor he was trying to deflect attention away from his fellow wolves who were in the first clue.

Personally, as dumb as they are, they may have a point with this voting business. Everyone who voted for Kelly's team- who I am pretty sure was a sheep team- is either dead, a wolf, or both. The only exception is your team, which does make you look suspicious.

[There is a silent 'but' hanging there for a moment, before Luca finally says it.]

But if you look outside the context of the votes, it falls apart. If we look at the other teams eliminated- the ones taken out by the wolves specifically- it can't be you. I don't think you would have eliminated Mr. Banner's team, if you were a wolf.

The answer is here somewhere, but I just...can't see it.
inspectormacarena: (Coryphée)

[personal profile] inspectormacarena 2015-04-27 10:07 pm (UTC)(link)
[He just... shakes his head. Right, that voting thing that had such an obvious solution that Cabanela forgot to explain it in the long list of other ridiculous accusations to debunk. He'd rather hoped Jesse would sort that one out, considering he was the one who put the vote in, but...]

Baaaby, c'mon. You could just aaask about the voting business. I've got two simple words for you. "Majority vote".
notaccurate: (59)

[personal profile] notaccurate 2015-04-27 10:09 pm (UTC)(link)
[Luca raises an eyebrow.]

"Majority vote"? What do you mean?
inspectormacarena: (Ballerino)

[personal profile] inspectormacarena 2015-04-27 10:20 pm (UTC)(link)
This is a little embarrassing to admit. Oversight on my own part, I suppooose.[He sits up even more straight than before, finally taking on a serious expression.]

Think back, if you will. It was the first night and mooost of us had no clue what we were doing. Nobody had outright said we were going to tie the votes as we'd done in the suspicion poll. We didn't even know what it meant to be taken out of the gaaame, baby. I was preoccupied and allowed Mr. Jesse to put in the vote in my stead. When I gave him my input on the matter, I told him to go along with the majooority.

[Which... is exactly why he's now warning people about not being sheep and thinking for themselves. It's oh-so-alluring to vote for someone because everyone else is doing it. Oh-so-easy to assume that they know what they're doing.]

If I'd known back then what I know nooow, I would've told him to vote for the World's Best Mage and the World's Most Charming Wizard. If they'd been in the lead at the time, we would've voted for them. ...Hindsight, nothin' like it.
notaccurate: (54)

[personal profile] notaccurate 2015-04-27 11:21 pm (UTC)(link)
...but he didn't vote for the majority. Kelly's team was always either behind Mr. Lockhart's, or tied. At the very most, all he could have done was break the tie, not vote for a majority.

[ Stop saying suspicious stuff like that, he really wants to believe Cabanela isn't a wolf. ]
inspectormacarena: (Coupé)

[personal profile] inspectormacarena 2015-04-27 11:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Nooo, baby. You got that wrong. Even Shades admitted it while he was explaining his reasoning. [Where did he leave his cellphone, hang on... He fiddles with it for a moment, then holds up the results of the poll.]

At the moment Mr. Jesse put in his vote, there was one vote for our male mages and two votes for the lovely laaadies. That's why his vote became the third vote in that line, with Mr. Nagi and Mr. Lockhart still down to one vote.
notaccurate: (16)

[personal profile] notaccurate 2015-04-27 11:45 pm (UTC)(link)
[Luca furrows his brows. He could have sworn there had only been two votes on Kelley's team when he and Lucina had voted. Had he been wrong? ]

That is quite an early vote...though I suppose it would have brought it close to a majority anyway.

What had you occupied anyway? Was it what you were doing with Mr. Banner?
inspectormacarena: (Dégagé)

[personal profile] inspectormacarena 2015-04-27 11:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Nnnope, it was not. Mr. Bruce and I didn't start actively conversing until the second day, if I remember correeectly. Rest assured, my preoccupations have no relevance to the game whatsoever. [He tosses his cellphone back and forth between his hands for a moment, almost as if he's juggling, then finally pockets it.]

As I said, it was the first day and nooone of us knew exactly what was going on. That's all there is to it.
notaccurate: (49)

[personal profile] notaccurate 2015-04-27 11:59 pm (UTC)(link)
It must have been pretty serious, to distract you from such a vital part of the game.

[Luca is curious, but not so curious that he would be rude and outright ask. ]
inspectormacarena: (Allongé)

[personal profile] inspectormacarena 2015-04-28 12:10 am (UTC)(link)
[That's virtually the same thing as asking, Luca. Geez.]

Baby, I gave my partner my opinion on the matter and told him to go for it. That still makes half of his vote myyy vote, and I take responsibility for it.

We started getting our act together by the time the second ousting took place, and my doubts about how the first ousting ended are what had me call it into question today in the fiiirst place. We could've run in circles about the third clue, or we could've gone after the rather ooobvious wolf team and taken one step closer to ending the game.

[But here they are.]
notaccurate: (05)

[personal profile] notaccurate 2015-04-28 12:24 am (UTC)(link)
[It's the polite way to ask, though. And it looks like Cabanela dodged it anyway. So Luca huffs a bit before he speaks again. ]

...they're going to vote you out, you know.

[He's not trying to scare Cabanela or anything, he's just stating the facts. Luca won't vote for him, but he thinks enough of the other groups will that his own vote won't matter. ]

I hate to be dreary, but, well...right. There is a good chance you may be voted out, so any lingering worries or regrets should be taken care of.

Do you mind that? In case this is your last day and all
inspectormacarena: (Ballerino)

[personal profile] inspectormacarena 2015-04-28 12:33 am (UTC)(link)
[He'd answer the last part, but his mind is still stuck on that first bit. "They're going to vote you out". Why? Because some loudmouth spun a magnificent tale of speculation? One that, as far as Cabanela knows, was countered on every aspect?]

... If they vote Mr. Jesse and myself out, they really are sheep. I've already explained why Shades' accusations had no legs to stand on. What else is there to dooo? Should I have been the one to go up on that stage and bellow some baaaseless accusations about another team?
notaccurate: (03)

[personal profile] notaccurate 2015-04-28 12:40 am (UTC)(link)
It's nothing you could possibly change. They're detectives, and people always listen to law enforcement above all.

[Is that a touch of bitterness to his voice? Does Luca have issues with authority? Noooooooo of course not! ]

I'll try to help, but if it doesn't work...I truly am sorry.
inspectormacarena: (Coryphée)

[personal profile] inspectormacarena 2015-04-28 12:45 am (UTC)(link)
[.................. Luca, he's the Head of Special Investigations. If he pulls the right strings, he could probably have both those measly detectives fired. Provided he lives through this.]

Hah... That's fiiine, baby. I can't ask you to do any more than your best, and considering the situation, that's already an aaawful lot of trust you're placing in me.
notaccurate: (36)

[personal profile] notaccurate 2015-04-28 01:19 am (UTC)(link)
[WELL IT'S TWO AGAINST ONE so yeah.]

Well, you've done a good job of earning my trust so far.

Of course, if it turns out you were a wolf and just using me this whole time, I will end you myself.

[Look at that smile he has on his face as he says that though. Is he being serious, or joking around because he doesn't think Cabanela could be a wolf?

The world may never know.
]
inspectormacarena: (Danseur noble)

[personal profile] inspectormacarena 2015-04-28 09:05 am (UTC)(link)
[Cabanela is worth like five of those flatfoots though. He's kind of a big deal. Also, he's laughing again. It's a little hollow, because he's tired and stressed and god knows what else, but it's laughter nonetheless.]

If I were a big bad wolf, I wouldn't be intimidated by a timid little sheep like yooou. Just sayin'.

"The quiet ones are the ones you have to watch out for." That is how that saying goes, I think.

[Though he hasn't been as quiet as usual during this game, mostly because not talking enough = people can shove words into your mouth.]

[OBJECTION-- wait, wrong occupation.]

Mr. Pinkman was the fourth person to vote, out of ten possible voters. That was not waiting for a majority to follow.

I didn't tell him to wait for the majority. I told him to go along with whichever team was leading at the tiiime.

It was two to one. Cabanela was busy working on the escape plan stuff, so... I went with my gut.
